Let's look at a Discounts Manager Summary Report for two discounts. Both discounts ran from 9/5 to 9/10.

Note: As of July 8th 2024, promotions are now being referred to as discounts on Seller Hub and eBay help pages. Sell Marketing API documentation has been updated to reflect this product name change, but note that no API interface changes have been made.

The first discount is a Buy 1, Get 2 at 50% Off discount.

Three sales were made during the discount period, however only Item 3 triggered a discount:

Discount Summary Report results

The sections below show how the baseSale, promotionSale, and precentageSalesLift values are calculated in the Summary Report.

Base Sale calculation

The baseSale value for the two discount is $20.00, which is the total revenue from all the sales that did not trigger the promotion during the report period.

Discount Sale calculation

The promotionSale value is $14.50, which is the total revenue from all the sales that triggered the promotion during the report period.

Percentage Sales Lift calculation

The precentageSalesLift represents the percentage of the total dollar amount gained due to promotions, which is calculated as follows:

    precentageSalesLift = promotionSale / (baseSale + promotionSale)

In this example, the precentageSalesLift is 42% during the report period:

    precentageSalesLift = $14.50 / ($20.00 + $14.50) = 42.03%
